The trail you see drops precipitously and rises again so on the other side. If you ride it you are sure you are going over the handlebars at the bottom...but you don't. Then you have to pedal like crazy to make it up to the top! The angle of shooting down belies the steep decent, so the picture is not nearly as imposing as the reality.
